Hatch Chile Gram August 14, 2019 at 02:19PM

Hatch Chile Gram: I keep salsa on deck- any variety or spice level. ? via @bigcitygardener
What’s great about this recipe is you can make this salsa mild or spicy & still get the hatch chile pepper flavor.
Recipe??
1️⃣. 5-7 tomatillos (husked & washed)
2️⃣. 2 hatch Chile peppers
3️⃣. 3 peeled garlic cloves
4️⃣. 1/2 onion
5️⃣. 1/2 cup (or more) cilantro
6️⃣. 2-3 limes
7️⃣. * optional- 2 peppers for some heat. I used sriracha peppers.
8️⃣. ** optional- 1/2 teaspoon salt •

➡️ Remove husks from tomatillos, slice onion in half, remove stems from peppers, peel garlic, & place on a baking sheet with foil. ➡️ Bake at 425°F for 15-20 mins (you can remove garlic once it starts to blacken)
➡️ Remove & let hatch peppers cool. Add tomatillos, onion, peppers (if you opted for a spicier salsa), garlic, cilantro, lime juice, & salt to blender. ➡️ Once the hatch peppers are cool enough to handle, remove skin, & add to blender with other ingredients.
➡️ Blend & taste- add more salt, lime juice, or cilantro as needed. *Keep in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
